White Light and Ultraviolet Light (Fluorescence Mode)

Following forms include-

White Light

Photography of individual cores, full core trays, individual samples and rock close ups. A critical step in creating a record of the core or samples prior to destructive sampling or break up of the core and later storage.

Ultraviolet Light (fluorescence mode)

Photography of individual cores and samples to locate fluorescent minerals and hydrocarbons. A critical step in recording the presence of hydrocarbons in petroleum cores and locating fluid contacts.

Close up Micro Photography

Photography (white light & ultraviolet modes) at high magnification levels of small areas of cores, cuttings or rock samples. Critical for the observation and recording of rock textures, porosity and micro fractures.
